The author interviewed and photographed cattle ranchers most of whom were raising cattle on land that had been in their families for six generations. In this 12.5x9.5 presentation, her b&w photos lose whatever interest they might have held showing up flat and muddy on paper that affords no resolution; the narrative and interviews will engage only the most determined (Texan) readers.
