Experiences in Math for Young Children

Experiences in Math for Young Children focuses on the developmental sequence of mathematics for young children and its integration with other content areas. Each mathematics concept is presented in a web that provides a picture of how it might be integrated with music and movement, language arts, visual arts, science, and social studies for children from birth through age eight. Early education students will learn about problem solving as the major means for constructing concepts with a balance of naturalistic, informal and structured activities. Students will be ready to put concepts into action with the assessment, instructional, and evaluation strategies provided in each unit.
