Gulf Coast Memory Scrapbook is a story told through the artwork of many local artists, who, like the authors, have been affected in some way by Hurricane Katrina. The true story is the human quest to persevere. Although many of these celebrated, talented artists lost their homes, jobs, music, artwork and supplies, they did not lose their need to create art, storytelling, and music. The memories depicted in this book represent just a few of the people, places, and things that make the Mississippi Gulf Coast special to the people who are lucky enough to call it home.
