Ronald Bevill McCarver, Ph.D. received his undergraduate training at Rhodes College with a major in psychology and a minor in philosophy. He received his Ph.D. in psychology with an emphasis in developmental disabilities at the University of Alabama in 1971. Dr. McCarver has published several noteworthy articles and chapters in the area of developmental disabilities. His focus soon shifted to applied areas and he now has over 45 years of experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled and seriously mentally ill people. He has also taught numerous courses at the graduate and undergraduate level at several universities in Louisiana, North Carolina and Alabama. He currently has a private practice in forensic psychology and behavior therapy and continues to study and teach the history of psychology.
