Apples of Gold in Baskets of Silver

Proverbs 25:11 perfectly describes this collection of 100 daily teachings, questions, and prayer from the Word: "Timely advice is as lovely as gold apples in a silver basket" (Proverbs 25:11, TLB). Within this book are timely words to cause you to rethink Scriptures and principles you may now take for granted. One Golden Apple reads in part: I read a story about a Christian who had a dream. In the dream, an angel came and took the Christian to a gathering where a familiar-looking person was encouraging many, offering wonderful words of godly counsel, love, hope, and comfort. It was clear that this person was both respected and loved. Everyone in the room was blessed by the life of Christ that seemed to continuously emanate from this Christian. The dreamer asked the angel, "Why does that person look so familiar?" The angel replied, "This person is who God had wanted you to be today." Just a story, I know, but it caused me to think. Who would I be today if I had surrendered my life to Jesus right after I was born again? Is it too late for us to still become the men and women we were supposed to be today? Do not worry about any right or proper approach to studying these pagesjust open them up and begin to enjoy the taste of the fruit they contain.
