It has a finely sewn binding. It has a dark brown leather covered spine and decorative gold design on the spine and on the board's cloth covering. The end pages are decorated with a water-silk-like design. The page edges, on all three sides, are gold. There is a lovely light brown satin ribbon bound in to use as a page-marker.
