Some 16,000 value changes are recorded in Vol. 1 of the 2014 Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, which contains the United States, United Nations and countries of the world, A-B. U.S. market activity remains relatively flat, with a few spectacular increases. One of those impressive increases is the 3 1869 Locomotive stamp printed on both sides, the reverse impression inverted, Scott 114e, which jumps from $55,000 used in 2013 to $100,000. There are also substantial gains in Austria for never-hinged sets from the classic period. Overall, there were more than 3,500 value changes in Austria. Other Volume 1 countries with significant value changes include Antigua, Argentina, Australian States and Barbados.
