Prickly Poems

The hedgehog, which has always held a unique place in our affections, is now the inspiration for this volume of prickly poetry. All hedgehog life is here, in this specially commissioned work by some of our best-known poets and artists. Each poem is totally different in content and mood: from Spike Milligan's safety warning to Tony Slattery's brokenhearted lover, via Adrian Henri's hedgehog motorway. The illustrations are no less diverse: artists include Jan Hissey, Tony Ross, Janet Marsh and Reg Cartwright. There is an introduction to the anthology by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society packed with interesting facts about hedgehogs and what the public can do to help them.
